Friday is the story of how a superwoman, artificially born, finds tranquility. There are strong doses of government tyranny, revolution and communism mixed in. While I disagree with a lot of the view Robert Heinlein has regarding politics and religion, this is a fantastic book. Friday is one of Heinlein’s better characters and the book is written totally from her perspective.
The reading of this book is excellent. Hillary Huber’s voice is a little nasally for my taste, but she does a great job nonetheless. She is able to very skillfully switch characters during her narration.
Read it or listen to it – it’s a good one. I first read Friday when I was 14, and I’ve read it 3 more times since then over the years.
