Beach Road Audiobook: James Patterson Does It Again

February 17, 2014

In typical James Patterson fashion, Tom Dunleavy, the protagonist of “Beach Road” is a lawyer in a small law firm. He is his only employee and barely ekes out a mediocre income.

He has a number of clients, but they themselves serve wealthy homeowners and celebrities living out in East Hampton, New York.

One of the guys Tom grew up with is arrested for a triple murder that took place near one of the Beach Road’s mansions. Dante Halleyville is a young black budding athlete with a huge future ahead of him in the sports arena. Tom knows Dante to be honorable and by no means a drug dealer or murderer.

Because of all the implications within the case, this could very well turn out to be the trial of the century. Dante wants his friend, Tom, to help prove his innocence.

Situations escalate. The press gets involved. High-powered people call in favors. Tom recruits Kate Costello from a top-notch Manhattan law firm. She is his ex-girlfriend, and he knows there will be personal problems, but he also knows she can win this case.

Patterson is able to channel the wits and clever revelations to yield a suspenseful, adventurous story far from run-of-the-mill.

Through the twists and turns James Patterson fans have come to expect, they are on edge until the final words of the audiobook. Tne ending does not disappoint.
