Fifty Shades Darker Audiobook Review

August 5, 2013

The Fifty Shades trilogy has certainly taken America by storm. This tantalizing tale of romance and intrigue has sparked a passion in everyone from highschoolers to fifty-something suburban moms, and for good reason: it’s devilishly good fun. Fifty Shades Darker, the second installment in the trilogy, begins after Anastasia, our hapless protagonist, runs out from under Christian Grey, the high powered CEO of a fortune 500 company. The questions remain though: Does she love him? Does he love her? Can she ever sacrifice the bits of herself he wants, and if she does, is it even worth it? Anastasia and Christian explore both the depths of their relationship and the depths that they are willing to go for one another in this whirlwind sequel to the original Fifty Shades of Grey. By the end of the book though, the question still remains: is their romance fit to last, or is it just another college-age love story?

The Author, E.L. James, had a surprise breakthrough into the writing world. First a fan-fiction author, she published her Twilight fan-fiction under the pen name Snowqueens Icedragon, and it took off like wildfire. Before long, it was a roaring success, and she set down to rewrite it as her own masterpiece. The result was a book that spent several weeks on the top of the New York Times’ bestseller list.

Fifty Shades Darker is a wild journey and I highly suggest that any avid reader download it. The journey is unforgettable and the characters fluid. Guaranteed to have the reader’s inner goddess jumping for joy!
